Our cultural workshop has been designed to allow the building of group
dynamics while focusing on local culture. Suitable for all ages, this workshop
will allow group participants a chance to experience the culture in a hands-on
application.
Our program starts with
arrival time for lunch. After lunch a short break will be taken while
the lunch cleanup is done, which will give participants a chance
to purchase telephone cards, postcards, stamps, mailing or souvenir shopping
in our onsite post office/souvenir shop. Banking or shopping in the
local supermarket can be done during this time as well.
Upon return, we begin with our
cooking block of the workshop, “Empanadas” a local snack food
will be made by participants with the help our Head Cook “Tía Julia”.
Participants roll and pat the dough into tortillas and then fill and seal
them. The empanadas will then be fried by Tía Julia. Participants
will have a chance to taste their works of art later during the afternoon
coffee break.
After cooking classes
we move to Dance classes. During classes we will
cover Salsa, Meringue and Cumbia steps, learn how to do some twists and twirls
and have a chance to put it all together dancing in pairs. If there
is anyone in the group that would prefer
not to dance, we can also offer a local town tour including the Orosi Catholic
Church and Museum, the oldest church in Costa Rica that still holds mass.
After classes we take a little time to relax and have our afternoon coffee
break allowing time to taste our empanadas.
This afternoon program can also be combined with Irazú volcano tour.
Times and days are flexible. |
