We are
open all year round. Course
programs start every week with arrival on Sunday and first class on Monday.
Spanish Classes From Monday to Friday under normal circumstances. We
ask all students to arrive on Sunday between 1-4 pm if staying in
the Guest House or Hostel and between 1-3pm if going into a homestay family
to give us time to get organized before classes start on Monday. If your schedule happens to work out
differently, please book in advance to give us enough time to work things
out and to ensure that you don’t miss out.
Classes are 3 hours per class, with one 15 minute break. Our classes are normally one on one making them incredibly intense and mentally exhausting which is why they are only 3 hours per day as that is the normal absorption/comprehension level for most students in one sitting. If you are interested in doing more hours, and if we have space, then you can book to do extra classes of 3 hours at a cost of $15.00 per extra class. We suggest to do a maximum of 2, 3 hour classes per day. For beginners we suggest just one set of classes per day and encourage to take classes together to help with the intensness of the classes . The other student not only helps to make the class more interactive for beginner students, but also take some of the pressure off each student allowing them to ease into learning that much quicker. The study buddy is also a big help.
Classes are offered only
5 classes per week, Monday to Friday, therefore giving
you the weekends to enjoy and relax in the natural surroundings. Our classes run in three shifts from 8-11, 12-3
and from 3-6 pm when seasonally available.
Class time schedules cannot
be booked before hand unless based on working schedules or heath reasons.
Please take homework, practice
time and memorization time into account when making your daily schedule. Most
students put in at least a few hours for studying and practicing, leaving
the rest for hiking and just hanging out on the patio!! The explorations done during class time
should be restricted to that which will incourage a higher concentration level
and pertinent vocabulary. Upon arrival on Sunday students will
receive their learning materials and will have a chance to begin reviewing
before classes on Monday.
Montaña LInda Spanish School Costa Rica offers classes taught by young motivated teachers, residents within our little colonial town of Orosi, most of whom have been with us since the beginning . Although our teachers are not university educated their personal training and many years of experience working with foreigners gives them an advantage that’s not to be overlooked. Montaña Linda’s teachers have given almost 11000 classes to almost 2400 students in the past years. Their classes consist of a combination of book learning, use of games, verb cue cards and articles, all in a fun learning environment allowing you to be able to speak all that you have learned. Our teachers are trained and have been working many years with students of all ages from 4-75 years old. Our average age is 22-37 and come from 32 different countries each year. As we are one of the few school that offer one on one we have also become very popular with older students and thosing making a permanent move to Costa Rica.
Our town is very welcoming to foreigners which makes for many many opportunities to practice Spanish outside of the classroom, which is one of the most important tools to help your learning absorption rate increase. Our relaxed atmosphere allows you a to become involved with the community at your own pace and style giving you a more realistic idea of Costa Rican life.

setting is just perfect for those that need extra time and attention and
our teachers are quite willing to give classes by the river etc. to make you

Only under pre approved situations do we allow bookings
to be made for a mid week start, and this decision is based on at what time
of the year and present availabilities. All information
must be received on time.
Upon full authorization by email, we do allow a one day delay, meaning
a Monday arrival and Monday afternoon or Tuesday class start due to incoming
flight schedules if the incoming student is willing to have and pay for an
airport pickup, priced at $40.00 first person and $5.00 each additional person...
Our guarantee that you are on your way directly to us!! Mondays missed class is picked up on
the Saturday. If your
flight is arriving mid week there is no problem to stay at the hotel until
your classes begin. Although it can never be guaranteed until the monday prior,
there is a chance that we have extra Spanish class spaces left which at the
point we can start classes early. The only other chance of having a mid week start is to call the office directly one week prior to your arrival to see how we are for space. If it should happen to work out the late starter student would not have a chance to request class times and would need to take night classes if necessary for the next monday start day to not interfere with new incoming students. SO.. your best bet is to make a booking with an arrival on Sunday and Monday class start day, and request earlier start. If we can work it out one week prior we'd be glad to help!
Notes
If you are concerned about booking a long stay in advance feel free to book for one week now and then add another after arriving. We would then apply the package price to the final price.
One on one classes can not be guaranteed if student is a beginner +. If student’s level dictates something different then one on one classes are given as much as possible, but based on reservation space. It might HAPPEN that there is enough space and if there is then the priority goes to the students with the longest reservation. 3rd week of study one on one classes guaranteed!!
Unfortunately our classes are not credit registered with any colleges or universities as of yet. Once classes are completed we can give an official letter of confirmation for all classes taken, but in most cases acception is required by your colleges or universities prior to leaving your home country.
Our Price of a 3 hour class when not taking any of our packages is $20.00 per class. If you'll continue for a while we'll work in a discount along the way!!
